1 明白 míng bai！

Used when you understand someone’s order,command or instructions.

Literal translation:

明: míng: clear

白: bái: white

Example:

A: 你帮我把书拿来。

B: 明白！

A: nǐ bāng wǒ bǎ shū ná lái 。

B: míng bái ！

A: Help me get the book.

B: Ok!

2 懂！dǒng!

Understanding someone’s words or thoughts

Literal translation

Understand, know

Example:

A: 我说的话你听懂了吗？

B: 懂了！

A: wǒ shuō de huà nǐ tīng dǒng le ma ？

B: dǒng le ！

A: Do you understand what I'm saying?

B: I do!

3 知道了！zhī dào le !

Got it! /Get it!

Literal translation

知道 zhī dào：to know

了 le : complete

Example:

A: 明天休息,不上班

B: 知道了！

A: míng tiān xiū xī ,bú shàng bān 

B: zhī dào le ！

A: No work tomorrow, take a day off. B: Got it!
